The missions program is monitored by the missions committee and the committee is under the supervision of the church elders. The general responsibilities of the Missions Committee are as follows:

1. Screen and select the missionaries that the Church will support.


2. Inform and encourage the Church body in the field of world missions and to present opportunities in mission service.


3. Arrange and conduct missions conferences.


4. Serve as liaison between our Church and missionaries.


5. Review and update Missions Policy Statement as needed.


6. Administer the Bible Fellowship Church Missions Program.


7. Communicate the Church Doctrinal Statement to both missionaries and mission agencies.


8. Coordinate missions’ emphasis with the Sunday school teachers.


9. Manage Missions Support Funds, including budgeting and implementation.


10. Develop Mission emphasis program.

1. Evangelism: Mark 16:15 "He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."


2. Discipleship: Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations."


3. Teaching: (MK Education, Bible school, Sunday school, seminary): Acts 19:10 "Paul took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord."


4. Church Planting: Matthew 16:18 "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it."


5. Compassion Ministry: Mark 8:2 (Jesus said) "I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat."


6. Bible translation: Acts 2:6 "When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken."

The missionary task goes forward by prayer. There are many ways to pray for missionaries. The following are two suggestions for praying for the needs of missionaries.

Personal: Pray for missionary families that they will communicate well with each other, stay healthy, their children will enjoy living cross culturally, that their children will find good schooling, their family members left behind in their home countries, their support level will remain high.

Ministry: Pray that they will be fruitful, safe, protected from demonic influences, and culturally effective in ministry.

Suggestions from Wycliffe Bible Translators
Wycliffe Bible Translators work worldwide and have developed the following suggestions for praying for missionaries:

1. Pray for Open Doors - "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message...." (Colossians 4:2-3a NIV)


2. Pray for Boldness - "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel...." (Ephesians 6:19 NIV)


3. Pray that God's Word will Spread - "Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we ask you to pray for us. Pray that the Lord's message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you." (2 Thessalonians 3:1 NLT)


4. Pray for Protection - "Pray, too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer." (2 Thessalonians 3:2 NLT)


5. Pray for Effective Ministry - "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5 NLT)


6. Pray for Travel - "And then he told them, 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.'" (Mark 16:15 NLT)


7. Pray for Refreshment - "Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 NLT)
